Are the Rubber Duck Awards suitable for beginners to coding?
The competition and program Gamefroot is suitable for beginners to learn coding. The course is easy to get started on and during the year you will receive guidance from Dan and his team to support you in learning about the platform.
Who can enter the competition?
This years competition is open to all schools/students in Canterbury only. However, we are happy for kaiako/schools outside of Canterbury to join in with the online hui to learn about using game design to tell stories through the Curriculum.
What's the best device for Gamefroot?
Gamefroot works best on a PC or Laptop. However Chome books and iPads are also suitable.
What do I need installed on my device in order to participate?

What age/year level is this most suited for?
The competition is best suited for Years 5-13 in general, holiday program ages are best suited for 12 -17 year olds.
What are the registration dates timeline?
Submissions for the 2021 awards open from Monday, 3 May until Friday, 22 Oct.
